The Weldcote carbon steel ER70S-6 wire has the highest deposit strength among all carbon steel wires and a strong tolerance of any scale or rust. High levels of manganese and silicon assure excellent results. It is commonly used for fillet and butt welding of sheet metal. ER70S-6 can also be used to plate various thicknesses. The wire has a .030 width making it suitable for different surfaces and objects. It will handle thicknesses from .031 inch up to a 1/8 inch. This carbon steel wire is a general purpose welding wire. It’s perfect for fabrication of mild steel. ER70S -6 is a high strength wire so you’ll get solid results even on rusty metal. Recommended shielding gas for this wire is pure CO2 or 75/25 (CO2/Argon).
