Weldcote’s Carbon Steel 11# Offer Versatile Welding to a Variety of Surfaces

ER70S-6 contains higher levels of manganese and silicon than the other standard grades of MIG wire. This wire can handle rust and mill scale, and still produce the highest deposit strength of all the carbon steel MIG wires.

The ER70S - 6 has a variety of uses, and is commonly used for butt and fillet welding of sheet metals. This wire plates a variety of thicknesses. This wire is best used for general shop applications, on a variety of surfaces. Metal items with poor fit-up or rusty oily plates make this wire especially useful for general automotive use. Selecting a quality MIG wire is a key step to get a solid weld. ER70S-6 wires are more forgiving and produce a sound weld, even under less than perfect conditions.

This is a general purpose welding wire for fabrication of mild steel. Weldcote’s Carbon Steel 11# wire is typically used with 75/25 shielding gas (75 argon/ 25 CO2 mix). It can also be used with higher contents of Argon, such as a 90/10 combination.
