Our ER70S – 6 wire contains increased levels of manganese and silicon as opposed to the other grades of MIG wire available. This wire has an excellent tolerance of rust, and consistently produces a high deposit strength similar to various other carbon steel MIG wires. The ER70S – 6 wires are designed to meet minimum tensile strength requirements of 70,000 psi. The added deoxidizers produce an excellent bead shape.

ER70S - 6 is used for butt and fillet welding of sheet metal and plate a variety of thickness levels. Welder’s Supply offers a variety of MIG wires for all your welding needs. The ER70S – 6 wire creates a smooth transition from the weld to the base metal, which is known as a wash-in or tie-in. A better wash-in may be a requirement for applications subject to fatigue. Compared to the .023 wire, the .030 inch wire would weld slightly thicker material faster.

Applications include general carbon steel fabrication. General shop fabrications, steel casting and forging, farm implements and shaft build up can all use ER70S – 6 wire.
