The Hypertherm Powermax 65/85/105 Nozzle 65A #220819 from Welders Supply is specially designed for the Hypertherm Powermax 65 plasma cutter. The nozzle -- with plasma cutter electrodes -- helps heat gas into plasma. Powered plasma cutter electrodes and nozzles touch the metal, causing a spark to form and heat gas into plasma. The Hypertherm Powermax 65/85/105 Nozzle 65A #220819 for the Hypertherm Powermax 65 plasma cutter directs the flow of plasma for precision cutting. Nozzles can be damaged in a number of ways.

  • Touching the metal, piercing beyond limits or cutting too fast can damage the nozzle from the outside. For the most part, you can pierce up to 35% of the rated thickness of your system.
  • Being too aggressive when piercing can cause immediate damage to the nozzle. Take special care to keep the correct distance between the nozzle and the cut.
  • Damaged nozzles should be checked often and – if needed-- replaced right away. These plasma cutter nozzles come in packs of five, making them very cost affordable.

Q - Do I need to replace anything else when I replace the nozzle? A - It is recommended that when a nozzle wears out, the electrode is replaced, and when an electrode is replaced, the nozzle should also be replaced to keep cuts consistent and precise.
Q - When should I change the nozzle? A - You should change your nozzle whenever you see notching, an orifice that isn't round, or rounded edges during your regular inspection.
Q - What does the nozzle do? A - Nozzles focus the arc by funneling gas flow.
